Jobie life

Cami and Chloe' are both Jobs Daughters (jobies). This is a service and leadership organization for girls ages 10 to 25. Cami has been in Jobies for 6 years and Chloe' for almost 4 years.

Jobies are a great group and a trying group all in one. They have really helped the public speaking skills and the leadership skills of Cami. Jobies have different positions and they have a set of line offices. In each group (bethel) they have a set of elected line offices the highest office for each group is Honored Queen. Cami was honored queen previously and is now in the line again. She is right in front of Chloe' in the line officers.
Chloe' has really enjoyed the jobie activities and she likes the competitions they have (surprise surprise). They have skit, drill, soft ball, ritual and choir competitions every year. She is trying to learn how to do projects and deal with adults. This is a problem she has because she is not use to dealing with adults. The adults in the group are mostly good but there are a couple that are just plain hard to deal with and or she doesn't like. I have tried to explain that this is something that you will have to deal with in real life.

Since it is a girl org there is always girl drama or as we call it "Jobie Drama". Sometimes I think this is caused by adults who mean well but don't let the girls figure it out on their own. Also the Jobies likes to take up as much free time as possible. They feel that each and every holiday needs to be taken up with Jobie things. We finally have to say no sometimes.

All in all they are good and Cami and Chloe' love being a part of Jobies

Chloe' is just as active as Cami but more physically active than all of us put together. For all of those with little children one word of warning, if you get your kid started in
Soccer beware you will never get out.

Chloe' started soccer ab out 4 years ago. Now we are nearly year round soccer. You would think that when the weather gets bad soccer is done. We aren't so lucky, there are indoor sessions of soccer from when soccer ends outdoor to when it starts outdoor.

In addition to soccer she likes working out at the gym(crazy, i know) she is running track for Center ville Jr. She plays every church sport that is provided. She plays intermurials at school, basketball, volleyball and anything else that they might play.

Don't ask me where she came from, I am still trying to figure it out myself. Since I have diabetes she is my work out Nazi. She has us working out 3 days a week. I know it is good for me but she still challenges me to lift as much or do as much as her. Some day I know I will look back and laugh at this.

The Great Debator

Cami, amazes me. She is so self assured and so active. I don't even pretend to understand all of it. She is the team captain for Viewmont high debate team. During debate season they have subjects that even adults don't give much thought to like no child left behind, death penalty and sub Saharant Africa. Not only do they have to research them but they have to prepare cases both ways and argue them both ways even if they don't believe in one opinion. They spend long Fridays and Saturdays in rounds debating sides just to do it again next week. She feeds off of it and loves it. I understand that it is exciting to argue your case. I think it is great because it makes them think of life outside of their teen world.

our crazy life

Since this is my first post I thought I would give you a snap shot of our life. Jeff and I spend our life after work chasing our kids from here to there.

Cami is our oldest, a senior in high school active in anything she can be. She is the debate team captain, a Jobie and is involved in many other things.

Chloe' is our youngest, she is in 8th grade and she is an athlete. She likes to compete in soccer and track, she also likes tennis and anything else sports related. Chloe' is also a Jobie.

Jeff and I have never been the parents that just drop our kids off to events, which means we are head long into all these activities with our children. Some weeks we may have no days where we are home.
